Rocha - Who are they?
Rocha are the organisation behind the Eco-Church Initiative. Each church can register to take a simple online assessment called a Eco Survey about how they are caring for God’s earth in different areas of their life
This questionnaire will determine what level your church is currently at. There are three accreditations you can gain: Bronze, Silver and Gold. If your score doesn’t gain you an Eco Church Award straight away don’t worry – the idea is to complete further actions in order to gain the points necessary for an Award. The survey looks at five key areas:
- Worship and teaching
- Management of church buildings
- Management of church land
- Community and global engagement
- Lifestyle
The site is also filled with useful information about how churches can become more eco-friendly and ultimately achieve higher accreditation.
The survey is completely free and once you have gained accreditation a certificate will be sent in the post.
